Light, robust and reliable, the Kestrel Autopilot sacrifices nothing for its
weight-cutting, size-shaving design, which integrates all sensors into a neat,
elegant hardware package. At 16.7 grams (2” x 1.37” x .47”),
Kestrel 2.4 is the smallest and lightest full-featured micro autopilot on the market – ideal for surveillance and reconnaissance applications.
New features for Kestrel v2.4:
Dual ported air speed sensor
Altitude/airspeed controller manages total airframe energy
True pitot-static pressure include air temp comp
GPS aided barometer for baro drift control
Microhard nano modem support
Freewave MM2 modem support
GPS fusion for altimeter
Improved guidance algorithms (landings, Alt Mode)
The Kestrel Autopilot System delivers three essential elements of successful UAV solutions:
Robust guidance and control
Smooth and successful integration
Repeatability
Our advanced small autopilot system provides intelligent, autonomous flight control of single or multiple unmanned aerial vehicles, complete with GPS waypoint navigation and autonomous takeoff, flight and auto-landing capabilities for mini and micro UAVs. Combined with our Virtual Cockpit™ ground
control software, the Kestrel is a highly effective, easily integrated
avionics package for a variety of military and commercial applications.
The system uses an external GPS unit for inertial navigation and wireless
modems communications between the ground station and autopilot. Kestrel
Autopilot can guide mini and micro UAVs autonomously and/or receive dynamic
user commands through the ground station, RC radio, and game pad controllers
while providing live video feeds to the user. It uses three-axis rate
gyros and accelerometers for attitude estimation, as well as differential
and absolute air pressure sensors for airspeed and altitude measurement.
This low-power, small autopilot solution is distinguished by simple, highly intuitive
user interfaces, while providing real-time trajectory generation and tracking.
Plus, it now includes wind estimation, onboard magnetometer and auto-trim
capabilities.
Prestigious
military and research organizations use the Kestrel micro autopilot
as the core component of their mini and micro UAV projects. They
know the autopilot matters. We invite you to consult with our engineers
to discover how the Kestrel Autopilot can fulfill your mini
avionics requirements.

“We are extremely pleased with the performance of your product and the level of support we receive.
The timeliness and quality of your responses is exceptional and we greatly appreciate it. I know of other groups in my organization who have tried other autopilots and have had considerable trouble obtaining quality support - thank you.
